Pastor Coleman Chong was born in Mississippi to parents who owned and operated a small grocery store in a small rural community. He graduated from Mississippi State University and then served as a missionary journeyman in Thailand for two years sponsored by International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Then he went on to graduate from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (currently called Gateway Seminary) in California with a Master of Divinity. After pastoring a church in Hawaii, he came to Houston, Texas to train as a chaplain intern at a hospital for a year. Upon completion, he came on staff as English Associate pastor at Chinese Baptist Church in Houston. His latest church to pastor is the one he began in Missouri City called Asian American Baptist Church (currently called Faith Fellowship Church) for eighteen years. He retired in 2013 and enjoy ministering to the greater Houston Chinese community. He has been married to his wife, Judy, for 54 years with three grown children and three grandchildren.

周榮光牧師出生於密西西比州。父母在鄉鎮地區經營一間小雜貨店。他畢業於密西西比州立大學。畢業後受召參加美南浸信會聯會國際宣教部於泰國任宣教士兩年。回美後他在加州金門神學院獲得神學碩士學位。在夏威夷牧會一段時間後，他搬來德州曉市頓受訓成為一名醫療院牧實習生。受訓結束後，他應聘為曉市頓華人浸信會的英文牧師。他在榮休前最後牧養的教會是德州密蘇里城華裔浸信會（現為faith Fellowship Church）十八年。他在2013年退休，並繼續在德州華裔的禾場裡傳福音。他與太太Judy結婚54年，育有三個孩子和三個孫兒。
